Doug Galaske - Eastern District Commissioner
Doug Galaske is one of the newest elected officials, having won the Eastern District Commissioner race in November of 2004. Mr. Galaske will be swore into office on December 31st at 10am in a ceremony to be held at the Randolph County Courthouse in Huntsville, MO.
Previous to his campaign for Eastern District Commissioner, Mr. Galaske had no experience in politics. Born on June 9, 1958 and raised in St. Louis, MO, he is the second oldest of eight children, two girls and six boys, of Joe and Mary Galaske. Mr. Galaske's father was a teacher and guidance counselor for the Rockwood School District for over 30 years. His mother also taught school and later became an office manager for a private investment banking firm. His siblings are scattered throughout the United States from a sister in Indianapolis, who is a furrier, to a brother in Los Angeles who is an aerospace engineer (yes a rocket scientist); they are a very close family that gets together as often as they can.
Mr. Galaske attended parochial elementary schools and graduated from St. John Vianney High School in 1976. After graduating from the Broadcast Center in Clayton, MO he spent the next 20 years in radio and TV in Missouri and Illinois. During those years he held nearly every position in broadcasting including: Chief Operator, Program Director, Sales Manager and Station Manager. In 1997 he became an equity shareholder in a Columbia, MO company, GeoTel Corporation; serving as Chief Operating Officer managing 10 offices in nine states and over 100 employees. In February of 2003 he sold his interest in GeoTel and purchased the assets of The Web Depot a web design and hosting company. The Web Depot hosts this site.
Throughout his career he has continued to take educational courses in sales, management and marketing, including graduating from the Radio Advertising Bureau's Radio Sales University. He attended Moberly Area Community College taking courses in Accounting, Economics, Business Law and various other courses; maintaining a 4.0 GPA and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society and was inducted into Brother's Ox fraternal group. He also taught an Adult Education class in broadcasting.
